Tulip Festival
The annual Tulip Festival at Burnby Hall Gardens, Pocklington is always a very popular event and provides a colourful and vibrant beginning to our new season.
We have a cascade of colours throughout the Gardens, with over 18,000 tulips (130 varieties) formally displayed in tubs and the main flower beds across the site.
Once again, our tulip display has been planned by Jill Ward, Head Gardener, and is the culmination of months of preparation by herself and the gardening team at Burnby Hall Gardens.
PLEASE NOTE: DEPENDING UPON THE WINTER WEATHER AND ANY EFFECT THIS HAS ON PLANT TIMINGS, THE FINAL DATES FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE REVIEWED AND CONFIRMED IN EARLY 2025.
May Day With Ravens Morris
Once again, our friends Ravens Morris return to the Gardens to celebrate May Day!
Steampunk Morris dancing for all the family to enjoy.

Ravens Morris are now in their second decade with even more noise, music, energy and entertainment.
The group are a steam-punk dressed side of dancers and singers who use pick axe handles instead of hankies, and throw in seas shanties, traditional songs and a giant dancing steampunk lion.
Heroes and Villains – Rusticus
“Decide for yourself once and for all who are the heroes and who are the villains in this exciting adventure into myth and legend!”
In the Heroes and Villains adventure, audiences will meet some of our most legendary folk heroes – forged in flame and living a life of hard-knocks outside the law! They’ll get swept up in a whole host of activities with infamous highwaymen and that most notorious of outlaws himself, Robin of the Hood!

Back by popular demand! Join us for another fantastic evening concert by Jonny and the Dunebugs here in the Gardens!
Dreamt up by some of York’s most established players, and covering 50s, 60s and 70s hits, the band are described as “your ultimate hip-shakin’ party band”.
Another great evening is evening of live music is promised, with everything from Bowie to The Beatles, Motown to The Monkeys and many more!

Driffield Male Voice Choir
As part of our Sunday bands and concerts programme for 2025, we welcome the Driffield Male Voice Choir to the Gardens for the first time.
Under the Musical Directorship of Leonie Cresswell, with Matthew Stanley as accompanist, the choir celebrates its 54th year in 2025, with the group being actively involved in community fundraising events.
Come along for a fantastic afternoon of choral music!

Carnival Time – Rusticus
“The charismatic Ring Master from the Rusticus Carnival is on the lookout for new talent – could it be you?”
Audiences will meet our young hero who desires above all else to follow their dream of running away to the circus. Trouble is, they haven’t worked out what their talent is yet! Soon everyone will be swept up in the effort to find their own carnival character in an interactive show including have-a-go circus activities and plenty of laughs along the way!
